Please let us know during registration if you would be willing to volunteer to help with either program. There will be coaching staff running the sessions so the responsibilities would be primarily around keeping kids organized & moving them from station to station. This is a great opportunity for parents who may not be that familiar with lacrosse to learn some of the basics along with kids. If you have any questions beforehand please contact Brian Higgins brianphiggins@yahoo.com
A fun introduction to the sport of lacrosse for young children. Will combine a Lacrosse curriculum focusing on gross motor skills, fundamental ball skills, footwork, sport terminology and fitness components.
Beginner skill focused program with a small field 'house' league component. The goal being to provide a very fun & 'competitive' experience while developing the base skills to get them ready for the U11 (3/4 grade) program - run by an experienced, non-parent coaching staff.
Do I need to purchase any equipment in order for my son or daughter to play WeeLax?
- Only a mini stick is required and may be purchased during registration for $20
Do I need to purchase any equipment in order for my son to play in the Little Laxers?
- Yes - full equipment is required which includes: lacrosse helmet, mouthpiece, shoulder pads, gloves, arm pads, and a stick. Recommendations (& hopefully discounts) will be provided post registration. CroART will set up a sizing and purchase program for players in need of equipment.
My daughter is in first/second grade. What program is available for her?
The 1/2 Girls Skills Development program meets once per week on Friday nights commencing in April. Contact miltonyouthlacrosse@gmail.com with questions & Register Here
My son is in third grade and has never played lacrosse before. Should he sign up for Little Laxers or the U11 (3/4 Grade) boys travel team?
- That is entirely up to you but we would recommend the Little Laxers Program unless your son is very athletic and/or played contact sports before. The Little Laxers program will be two sessions per week vs. three sessions per week for the U11 program.
