Summer FitKid Program Starts July 11

Grades K-6

2, 3, and 5-day options available

Half and Full Day Options available

 

Two locations in Falmouth: NYE Park North Falmouth and Morse Pond School

 

This fun and highly active program includes sports such as:  basketball, flag football, frisbee golf, kickball, lacrosse, soccer, whiffleball, and kids yoga!    Other fitness-inspired activities include fun field games, relays, obstacle courses, and more. The program is co-ed, for children entering grades K-6.  Participants will be grouped by age. Each session is  limited to 30 Participants.

 

 

The program is offered at 2 different locations in Falmouth, depending on the week.   ALL are welcome to register for any location that is convenient for them.  

DATES

· July 11 - 15 @ NYE Park North Falmouth

· July 18 - 22 @ Morse Pond School

· July 25 - 29 @ NYE Park North Falmouth

· August 1 - 5 @ Morse Pond School 

· August 8 – 12 @ NYE Park North Falmouth

· August 15 - 19 @ Morse Pond School

DAYS/TIMES

· 2 days -Tues & Thurs, 9 am–12 pm ($80/week) OR  9 am–3 pm ($120/week)

· 3 days - Mon, Wed & Fri,  9 am – 12 pm ($100/week) OR 9 am–3 pm ($160/week)

· 5 days - Mon through Fri,  9 am – 12 pm ($140/week) OR 9 am – 3 pm ($240/week)

Wednesday, September 12 the 10 week program begins 4pm-5pm

September, 12 2012 the Fall WeeLax program begins 4pm at the Boston Athletic Club in 653 Summer Street in South Boston.

This program is created for an introduction to the sport and not designed for advance level players in the age groups. Your child does not need to bring any equipment, however if they have a favorite stick at home and would like to use it they can do so.  Sticks will be provided to players for use during the program. If interested, mini sticks can be purchased at a CroART discount rate of $12 (normally $15-$20), and these sticks come with light rubber ball.

WINTER LACROSSE SKILLS AT STARLAND SPORTSPLEX

Our fun skill development sessions will challenge all players and levels. We customize to the players not the group. Sessions will run from January through March. 

  Our coaches will be emphasizing the fundamental skills of lacrosse with a strong focus on developing proper technique.  We are committed to GROWING, SKILLS, SPEED AND SPIRIT!

Mondays - January 6 – March 23

Grades 5 - 12, 4:00pm to 5:00pm

 

Wednesdays - January 8 – March 25

Grades Pre K- 4, 4:00pm to 5:00pm

 

Monday Program Dates - 10 Sessions

Starland Indoor Winter LEAGUES!

Established to provide an opportunity for players of all ages to continue playing the great game of field lacrosse inside during the Winter. Our two (2) 70 x 40 yard fields allow for long poles and that true outdoor feel inside. If you are in a search for a league close to home come to Starland Sports Complex for a competitive lacrosse experience.

MENS ADULT LEAGUE

7 v 7 format with 2 attack, 3 midfielders, 2 defensemen and a goalie

2 long poles allowed on field

 

Wednesday nights game times are 7pm, 8pm and 9pm

Mens Open 18 and Over

Mens Masters 30 and Over

Open Play 7pm – 8pm on the Turf

Cost:

$150/per player or $1,600 a team (based on roster of 12) Teams provide uniforms, tanks can be purchased $15 per player.

Games times 5:00pm – 8:00pm

 

Grades 1 & 2  - 5 v 5 format with 1 attack, 3 midfielders, 1 defensemen and no goalie

5 on 5 Flag Football in South Boston at the Boston Athletic Club.

League play begins Sunday December 16.

6 teams of 6 players (5 on 5 with a sub).

Team Captains: Please email that your team will be playing along with your team name. The Cost is $70 per player and you must have a minimum of 6 players to count as a team.

Free agents: We will do our best to get you on a team but do not guarantee you will be placed. If you are not placed on a team you will be fully refunded.


Belts are included in the price for use during season only. Each team will be responsible for uniforms or specific team color shirts for the season (team name and numbers are not required on jerseys).


Sunday Morning in South Boston

All games are 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 11:00 am and 12:00 noon.

5v5 INDOOR FLAG FOOTBALL RULES

Scoring

  • Touchdown 6 pts.
  • Orange cone 1point conversion
  • Yellow cone 2 point conversion
  • Safety 2 points, which will be awarded to the defense. 
  • 21 point skunk mercy rule, game will be called 

Offense 

  • 3 downs per series. 
  •  1st downs are once the ball crosses the 50 yard line.
  • All players are eligible receivers.
  • Center must always snap the Football.
  • QB has 4 seconds to throw the Football, if ball is not thrown it will result in a sack loss of down and the ball will be placed where the QB stands.
  • QB can run if blitzed.
  • Running plays are not allowed.
  • Laterals and forward pitches are allowed.
  • No flag guarging or stiff arming.
  • No diving or jumping allowed to advance the Football. 
  • Once the ball carrier falls down the play is dead.
  • No fumbles, the ball is blown dead once it hits the ground.
  • Downfield blocking is permitted, players must have hands extended and  block the waist to shoulder box area. 
  • Ball is live off the nets. 
  • Only 1 foot needs to be down for a completion.
  • No kickoffs, kicks or punts allowed. 
  • No timeouts.
  • Two 20 min half, running game time, clock doesn't stop! 
  • Once the receivers flag comes off they are ineligible.
  • Offense has 20 seconds from huddle to get the play off.*refs don't have to warn offense of expiring time.
  • Punting, the offense can stick to the drive or opt for a punt, once a punt is delared the ball  will be placed on the opposite 20 yard line.

Defense

  • No stripping.
  • No chucking or forcing a player out of bounds. 
  • 5 Yard bump n Run on line of scrimmage.
  • One blitz is allowed per series of downs. 
  • Defense must yell "BLITZ".
  • No grasping clothing or holding an offensive player back from forward progress.

Overtime

  • Each team gets an offensive drive.
  • First overtime, the ball will be placed on the 2pt conversion line, each team will get a drive.
  • Second overtime the ball will be placed on the 1pt conversion line, each team will get a drive.
  • If the score is still the same, the game will result in a tie.
